Hank Moonen

Hank brings more than 25 years of tax experience across senior corporate tax leadership, advisory and entrepreneurship. As founder and CEO of TaxModel, he built and scaled an international tax software business through product development, SaaS commercialisation, private-equity investment and acquisition by Tax Systems. His perspective connects tax substance with the realities of choosing, building, buying, selling and adopting tax technology.

Earlier in his career he was Head of Tax at Stahl, held international tax roles at PwC and ABN AMRO, and advised private-equity-backed multinationals on post-merger tax integration. He holds a master’s degree in Dutch civil law from Utrecht University and a postdoctoral degree in tax law from the University of Amsterdam.

Raj Balgobind

Tax Technology & Transformation Director

Raj works at the intersection of tax, finance and technology. An international direct tax specialist turned tax technology and transformation lead, he brings more than 20 years across tax, finance and technology, and has served over 15 multinationals and institutions. He helps groups design and deliver scalable tax operating models across process, data, technology and people, including automation, advanced analytics and AI, from strategy through to delivery.

Most recently he was Ireland lead for Direct Tax Technology & Transformation at PwC, where he led the tax practice’s AI capability, and he now directs the tax technology practice of Tax, IT & Finance Synergy in Dublin. Before that he led the Pillar Two implementation and redesigned global tax accounting and reporting at LGT Bank in Zurich, and delivered tax technology programmes for Naspers & Prosus, HEINEKEN and VodafoneZiggo. He began his career as a tax lawyer.

Raj holds master’s degrees in tax law (LL.M.) and social science from the University of Groningen, an Executive Master in Finance & Control from Nyenrode Business University, and is a Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA). He completed executive programmes at Harvard Business School and INSEAD, and is a member of the Dutch Association of Tax Advisers (NOB).
